John Key Letter

Dear Mr. Key,

Don't abolish pocket money, this isn't fair on NZ kids!

I see what you're trying to do, you're trying to help people around the world and other good causes like that. I agree with you in some things but other things, well let's just say... WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!? I have my own comments to make Mr. Key and you will definitely not like some of them!
I read your statement but you need to say more than that if you want to convince me! Here's what I have to say:

Earning

Once parents earn money to keep it's not yours. If parents want their kids to have pocket money their kids can have pocket money and you can't just expect them to turn around and say to their kids that they can't have pocket money anymore! Even if they did I'm sure it wouldn't be your choice Mr!

I have a class of 30 people and most of them don't agree with you!

Lollies and video games.

So let's get to this Mr. Key!

Some kids don't actually spend their pocket money on lollies! I'm pretty sure you just wrote that statement to hide the real truth: YOU are the one buying all the lollies around here! (YEAH YOU!)

Also, yes kids may spend their  pocket money on video games but some of those games are actually educational!So you're stopping kids from learning; in a way. 


Starving people
John Key I know you're trying to do a good thing and help people around the world who may not have food,water,clothes or a house and education. I'm sure lots of people like me for example want to donate to these kids/people but again they just can't! 

Donating
Have you ever thought of it this way?!? If we donated all our money to the poor countries then who would be the one to starve? US of course. (Including you!)

Walking
Parents do drive their kids to school, yes it's true. But hey, they just want to keep their kids safe!
Anyway you have no need to complain because in High School they Walk there. That's right, there goes that magic word again they WALK!
Well I think I've covered that well enough!

Just before I go here's a little tip:
You say that some families struggle to pay their bills right? Yea about that.....
You know you're the government so it's partly you're own problem they struggle because you could be 
lowering the bills right now just a little bit instead of scoffing all those lollies and watching T.V.

Hi, my name is Rachel. I am 9 yrs old and I go to Windsor North School. My favourite subject is Writing. I'm a year 5 and I'm in Room 6. My favourite subject is Writing and I'm really good at Spelling, I normally have my face buried in a good book so some people call me a book worm!

Tables or desks?

Why do we have to choose? Well then…. I’m going to tell you why I would LOVE desks.

WARNING! Rachel is very grumpy because she doesn’t want tables!




           The bad side of tables

The bad side of tables means..Tote trays!
And tote trays mean.. people get crammed in, pushed around and fall over so that ends in getting hurt! I mean c’mon I’d rather have my books and stationery right in front of me than take that bad risk of getting hurt!
I don’t think Room 6 even has room to fit tote trays and tables in!!!!
I would be so so so so sooooo depressed if you took away my beautiful desk full of privacy and replace it with some weird shaped table and an ugly old tote tray!

         
      Why we need desks!

I need a desk...how could you not agree with me?!? Everyone would have to agree that desks have MUCH more space than tote trays.
Did I mention that you don’t have to move or get hurt because you have everything right there in front of you?!!? Any way if I did mention that… I DON’T CARE!
I want and need to keep my beautiful desk.


So there you go; that is why I want to keep desks.
I hope you see my reason for keeping desks, and how this classroom (Room 6) is fine the way it is!
